I like everything except for the proportion of the leaf crown (I feel like it should be a little broader, less sapling-style), and the point where the root structure meets the trunk is cartoony and unnatural in a way that doesn't really blend with the rest of the tree. I feel like they look like tentacles where they meet the tree, although the actual roots themselves look good. I worked at a tattoo parlor for a while, this is up to snuff with most of the flash that they would have on the wall.

It looks a bit rough, and i think you should define the trunk of the tree a bit more. But that could definately work as a tattoo.
