Concept illustration for a series I'm working on under the theme of arabpunk. I'm really inspired by the idea of infusing cyberpunk elements within cultural contexts and backgrounds different from the usual big American/European or Japanese/Asian metropolis which we are all too familiar with. I like the idea of bringing cyberpunk into a more exotic cultural context. So here is an example of that, taking place in the shadowy streets, empty open air markets and on the rooftops of future Baghdad, where a bunch of tech savvy Iraqi youth are engaged in a low intensity conflict against a fascist theocratic elite.
