Feeling somehow safer under the view, Eddie allowed himself a longer look at Steve than he usually would while he took another drag from his cigarette. Steve had come from the campground's small facilities building, where he'd gone to pay for their overnight use of the campsite. He must have also washed his face, though, because Eddie could see that the hair around his forehead was still damp. And, Eddie noticed, he'd put on a gray Hawkins High hoodie.

"Hmm, there's a joke in here somewhere." Eddie motioned toward the logo on Steve's sweatshirt. "Something about taking the jock out of high school or…"

"Shut up," said Steve, chuckling. "I've had this for a long time, and it's very soft and comfortable by now, thank you."
