Just in case anyone is confused, the 5th panel is an illusion of Rin

I don't know if you realize it, but I purposely made a parallel between
Rin and Katsumi and Sesshomaru's connection to them.

Anyways, let me explain(and sum up) some things in case you may be confused:

Up until now, Mai has been pursuing Sesshomaru because she wants to control him and devour his soul.
As Kazumi, she only wanted to live long enough to have the chance to see her friend once more. She decided to become a demon in hopes
that he could finally accept her as someone worthy enough to be by his side, but obviously the fox spirit possessed inside of her has corrupted those feelings.

In this page, Sesshomaru is about to kill Mai once and for all but she catches him off guard with a clone turned into an illusion of Rin and
attempts to strike from behind but something stops her in her tracks.
