Description I feel like I could keep on falling,
If only the ground weren’t there to stop me.
Climb the skies in a twisted haze,
And join the gleaming light once more.

The howling winds rushing past my ears,
I smell the crisp, fresh air as it whips past me,
And smile gladly as it tenderly sets my face aglow.
The clouds press in on my vision and then:

My being is electrified as the winds intensify.
Enraptured I shout to it in reply.
As the sound is ripped from my lips,
I try to catch back my breath.

For a moment I lose all sense.
Sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste.
I feel nothing. I gaze downward and realize,
That I have left the clouds quite far behind.

My feelings are gloriously returned,
As I sail past the clouds into life.
A million colours paint themselves on my eyes,
In streamers as I descend.

The music is approaching now,
I am now more than halfway down.
For fear I’m near the journey’s end,
I slowly start to be again.

Speeding towards land I can feel colour,
The warmth, I taste the salts in the air.
See the roaring sound of the wind,
And hear the wonders that I feel.

I uncontrollably, yet willingly glide.
I soar towards my destiny.
As a bird with destination not direction,
I pray the wind take me where it will.

I gracefully fall to meet the ground.
And in the fleeting seconds,
Before imminent eternal repose,
I turn.

The tips of my wings kiss the grass,
As my flight makes a beautiful arc.
I cast myself into the sky,
And behold the glory that is before me.

Instantly I am caught by a new wind,
At first it buffets me around.
Like the ships on the seas,
As I stabilise I feel it befriend me.

Carrying me as a precious treasure,
It finds me a new path through the sky.
Secure, I brace for my destination,
For now my quest is height.

High above in blissful blue,
I observe the sapphire sea.
Its creatures and the rolling sands,
The plateau of the rich ochre land.

As I leave the land far behind,
Winging into the endless azure paradise.
In my mind, the thought I find:
“I am the luckiest one alive.”
