Originally, I wasn't going to participate in last month's theme for since I was very busy and ended up sick at the end of the month. However, everyone was granted a week extension, and I created this.

I'm actually pretty proud of this. I haven't posted a picture colored with colored pencils in maybe over a year (if anyone can prove me otherwise please go ahead). It's exciting to see how much better I am now than I was.

I used the Christmas picture of Lyekal that I drew last year as a sort of basis. I wanted to base December's outfit off of that to see how much I've improved since last year. And boy, do I think that I have improved a lot. Which is another reason why I love this piece so much!

Since that was the last month of the pageant, I just want to say that I have had a great time with it. I know that I won't win, but it's really been a great experience. I didn't enter to win; I entered to learn and try new ways to color, shade, etc. And that's exactly what I've done. I've tried a lot of new techniques and tricks with the pictures that I have done, and I am proud of all them. It has also really developed Lyekal as a character; this pageant inspired me to create a much more in-depth history for her than I had before. It's sad that it's over after this, but I'll still try to keep drawing Lyekal all the same.
