Here’s a creature I’ve definitely never held, because the last one died in the 30s. Today’s prompt was extinct, so I drew the thylacine, a carnivorous marsupial from (where else?) Australia. An animal that I definitely know about because of professional, scientific reasons and not because of how much I used to play Zoo Tycoon 2 (and by “used to,” I mean last week).
They’re marsupials, so they’re more closely related to kangaroos than wolves or cats. And they did have pouches, just facing toward the tail instead of the head.
