What use is a mobular phone without reception?

When you car breaks in the middle of nowhere, nowadays, you can check your phone for instant help. If you're connected to some station, at least. Otherwise, you have to depend on the kindness of strangers to help you out. Which may only be a possibility if the moon hasn't struck again.

I was playing with some lighting in Eevee. As good as those HDRi backgrounds are, they're lacking a lot of creative freedom when it comes to scenery, at least if you haven't got the equiment to do those shots yourself. So I tried. It came out way too dark, so I got the inspiration of looking at a mobicular phone at nighttime. The rest was added from my pool of models. The street was very bland looking, so I improvised a quick texture for the road and pavement. It's astonishing how much I've learned in the meantime. Now if I can finally figure out those particle hairs…

After rendering, I was a bit bummed, though. Due to the increased sample size, it took way too long to render. And when it finished, I noticed that I had aligned Alioth on street level, not on pavement level, so half of her paws were missing. On the other hand, I had the chance to fix some lighting issues as well. Made the headlights a bit more yellow and stuff.
