A design of an album cover for Delta Summer, who is a musician in my Solar System sci fi setting.

Inspired heavily by The Sisters of Mercy.

Also inspired by the Bubblegum Crisis anime, which features an in universe band called Priss and the Replicants.

Delta Summer was born in Delta City, after which she was named. However, her parents were from the Western Bloc (European alliance formed in the early 21st Century), and the family returned there when she was two.

She was raised in London, but returned to Delta City in 2074 at the age of twenty, where she became the frontwoman of the band Diztraction.

The band was known for its political statements which criticized the megacorporations and governments. Some say this is the reason the band broke up just three years later, because they were forced to. Delta became a model after this.

In 2082, the City fell to a zombie outbreak. Delta escaped and returned to the Western Bloc, starting a new music career under the group name Delta and the Replicants. The band immediately drew controversy for her decision to employ only robots as band members, which was believed to be a political statement about the rights of synthetics.

Delta and the Replicants quickly adopted a dark sound with prominent bass and low vocals from Delta herself. They became quite popular among the gothic subculture.

The 2084 album Deadland was a commercial breakthrough, containing several songs that entered the top 50 in numerous countries. The track "Charlie" reached number 19 for six consecutive weeks in the Free California Protectorate. Delta confirmed in an interview that the song was based on a real person who had saved her life during the zombie outbreak.
