Hmm... when I saw your post at the library, I couldn't help but agree with you. Now that I'm at home, I don't think I do. This means that you're probably right, and I've tweaked the image for my own monitor. I've always had this problem with my darker images and my gamma being off.

I like this picture a lot, I dunno If it's just my monitor but i think this image could benefit from from tweeking the levels a bit, the forest area is nice and bright but the bridge and it's surrounding area is too dark to make out too much detail. Also i think this picture deserves to be in a much higher resolution to make out all the nice details in the foliage and brickwork.
