Description
A friend of mine asked me to make them a Patrat. I ended up making my own pattern for it. Since so many other people have been so generous with uploading theirs for free, I decided to do the same. It's fairly simple to make. I'll upload a side view as well, so you'll have a reference for his tail.Tail picture can be found here: www.deviantart.com/isabelpytho…
Note that this pattern has not been tested. You may keep a copy of this pattern for personal use, but please do not distribute it as your own. You may sell items made from this pattern as long as you give credit.
You will need: white, red, yellow, and black embroidery thread, brown and white yarn in worsted weight. Black, red, yellow, light tan, and white felt. Size F or size G crochet hook, and stitch markers, such as a paper clip.

At this point, everything you need to crochet is done. You will now need light tan felt, black felt and small amounts of red and yellow felt. Begin by cutting an oval out of the tan felt and sewing it to the stomach of the doll. Cut another oval out of the tan felt for the muzzle. Using black embroidery thread (I went with three strands) stitch a small triangle for the nose, a line directly under it and then a larger triangle under that for the mouth. Cut out a tiny diamond of white for the tooth and stitch it in the mouth. Sew the entire muzzle to the face.
Now comes the tricky part. This is when you really need the reference image to rely on. The black part of Patrat’s eyes is sort of a mask shape, so you’ll need to make sure it has straps. Fold a piece of black felt in half and cut out the base from that. Begin as if you’re cutting out a heart,
Hold the shape up to your doll to ensure it’s the right size. Ideally, they should look a bit like sunglasses. Next, cut out a pair of red circles for the eyes themselves. You’ll also need a set of small yellow pieces for the highlights and two very small black dots for the pupils. Sew the yellow parts and tiny black circles onto the red pieces then sew the red pieces to the black mask. Finally, sew the mask to the face of the doll. Be sure that it slightly overlaps with the muzzle. Congratulations, you now have your very own Patrat!
