Chapter 4-Paradise, here come!

Toboe woke up, sweating and panting, he looked around, it was probably two in the morning, he heard soft, quiet sobs coming from the left. He turned and saw Nikki, in her wolf form, looking up at the Moon and sniffing, her Dark Brown fur turning silver in the moonlight. "Hey, you okay?" Nikki jumped a little and turned at him with her wolf amber eyes wet with tears, Toboe's eyes softened as he sat next to her."It's nothing, I'm fine" Nikki sobbed, Toboe nuzzled her, if Nikki had been in human form she would've blushed to stay permanently red; "I know you're not fine" whispered Toboe, Nikki sniffed again as her amber eyes bore into Toboe's soul. "I just miss my home so so so much! We-we didn't travel to this city, Toboe, we blacked out and woke up right beside the dome..what's worst is that we didn't even get to say goodbye to our parents..I fought with my mum, we used to fight about everything, and now, she probably thinks I'm dead!" Nikki started crying quietly and buried her face in Toboe's red fur. Toboe froze for a few moments, but then he licked her forehead and nuzzled her again. "It's okay to miss her, I miss granny so much too! She took care of me when I was a pup, and gave me these" Nikki gave Toboe a wolf like smile as she looked at the bracelets, she licked Toboe's furry cheek an then his nose. Toboe froze for a moment as a million thoughts ran through his mind. Blushing? Shivers? Why did it all happen around Nikki? Could it be possible that Toboe had a crush on Nikki?

"Wake up love birds! Aren't we gonna find Tsume?!" Hollered Hige at Nikki at Toboe. Nikki opened her amber eyes and saw Toboe resting his head on hers, cuddling right next to her. Isa, Hige and Kiba were already human, Isa smirking at Nikki. Nikki looked over at Toboe and laughed, he was in his human form blushing..again. "Dude! Stop blushing, you're freaking me out already!" Laughed Nikki, Toboe giggled shyly. "You know I'm kidding! You look cute when you blush" commented Nikki elbowing Toboe, who's face was now completely red, "N-Nikki, you think I'm...cute?" Nikki just giggled and blushed, "Sure! Who wouldn't?" Nikki stood up and trotted away laughing. "I could swear those two will end up as mates..she's not my type anyways" sighed Hige, Isa raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. When Isa turned around, Kiba's electric blue orbs were fixed on her, with an unsuccessful attempt to hide the cherry red blush that raised in her cheeks, Isa tilted her head shyly as Kiba looked away bashfully. Isa could've sworn she had seen a light tint of pink on his pale cheeks. Gee, this was getting pretty cheesy, and awkward for the friends.

Toboe kept blushing after Nikki called him cute, Nikki just kept giggling at his red face. "Okay, if you're gonna keep blushing, guess I'll need to give you a cute, yet annoying nickname..how about..umm..CHERRY CHEEKS!!" Hige snorted loudly, Kiba chuckled and Isa laughed full heatedly. "That's not funny Nikki!" Exclaimed Toboe, Nikki sneered, "Cherry Cheeks! Cherry Cheeks!" Chanted Nikki, "Cherry Cheeks so red, they match your head of red!! Ha! Get it? Cuz you have red hair! Hahahaha!!" This time everyone laughed, before a Toboe could argue back, they heard a gasp behind them, Nikki and Isa recognized her immediately..Leara. Toboe stepped forward, "Leara, don't be scared, I won't do anything! I just wanted to see you again..I'm so sorry about your bird" The girl obviously started screaming her head off as she started to argue with Toboe. Nikki and Isa followed Hige and Kiba into a manhole, Toboe followed a moment later. "Ahh! That stinks!" Cried Nikki as she covered her face with her hands, trying to avoid the stench of the manhole. "Guys, we must find Tsume, remember?" Everyone nodded and followed Tsume's scent towards his hideout.

Kiba went in first, Tsume jumped to his feet, surprised to see them. "Tsume!" Toboe, excitedly recognized him, "You!" Tsume snapped at Kiba. "Gee, his more terrifying in real life" whispered Nikki to Isa, She nudged Nikki so she would shut up. "I could smell the blood from your wound. I smelled it all the way from here from town" said Kiba calmly. Tsume just glared at him, "And are you going to nurse me back to health? Well, I don't need your help!" Toboe stepped forward, "Tsume...look I...We're leaving the city! I think you should come with us" Tsume stepped away from everyone. "And where is this merry band of yours going?" Kiba's eyes narrowed, "to Paradise". "You're kidding me. You're going with them cause you believe in that crap?" Toboe's eyes softened, "I don't know, but if we stay here we'll have to stay in hiding or worse..we can't keep living with humans and survive" Look, I hate to interrupt, but a nasty stink is headed this way!!" Interrupted Hige. Kiba turned to the group, "Let me ask you something. Why did you guys come to this city? It's because of the flower scent, wasn't it? Well, it's gone now, there's no reason to stay" Tsume glared at Kiba for the hundredth time, "It's not because of the flower, I'm here because I belong" Yeah, I can see that. This city is a dump" Nikki and Isa could practically see the little ray of lightning between their foreheads, what was the point of bringing Tsume if he would only argue with Kiba? "C'mon guys! We don't have time for this!" Blurted Hige. Tsume and Kiba stared at each other dead in the eye, "The last time I saw you you wouldn't pass yourself off as a human. Well you look pretty human now, where'd your pride go?" Nowhere. Nothing has changed" answered Kiba blankly, Tsume growled. " Do you have the slightest idea of what leaving the city will mean? You'll just die!" Possibly. Everyone's gonna die" But if life has no purpose you're dead already" blurted Isa, Kiba's eyes widened, Isa smiled warmly at him. There was a flash, warning the pack that they had to get going. Nikki screamed when Toboe fell but Tsume grabbed him just in time. They scaled through the city walls, first Kiba jumped, then Isa, then Hige. Isa almost slipped when she landed, but Kiba held a firm grip on her shoulders, to which both him and Isa blushed a light pink. Isa looked up and saw Nikki right on the edge of the roof. "Nikki!! What are you waiting for?!" Toboe was right next to Nikki, looking as if he were going to wet his pants. "I'm afraid of heights!!" Think of the death slide!! The death slide back in Toronto!!" This is nothing compared to a death slide!! And FYI, it has 'death' in it!!!" Toboe raised an eyebrow at Nikki, what on earth was a death slide? "Jump already!!" Nikki took a deep breath, "It's a death slide..ITS A DEATH SLIDE!!!" Nikki jumped and landed on her belly "Ow.." Croaked Nikki as she got up and fell again. "Stop tripping!" Chuckled Isa, Nikki raised her brows, "Oh, I didn't trip! I was just testing gravity! As always, it's working perfectly!" Everyone laughed at Nikki's comment. Nikki looked up at Toboe, "Hurry up, cherry cheeks!!" Jump already! Your little girlfriend beat you to it!" Chorused Hige as everyone gave him questioning looks. "Move it!" Exclaimed Tsume giving a little kick to Toboe. Tsume finally jumped and the pack got out, on their search for paradise
