Bonus trivia: She organizes the Running of the Leaves in Ponyville.
Oooh! Let's take it an extra step into fanon! *Ahem*
She originally got her cutie mark when she came up with the idea for the race, when before Granny Smith would (in her younger years) do the running all by herself to take down the leaves. However, when Granny Smith got too old, and announced her final year, Finish Line organized the race and instead of the leaves coming down over the course of several weeks, a bunch of ponies could do it in a single afternoon.
Granny Smith was still reigning supreme, but her equally athletic friend Greymare (who would later become Mayor Mare) had a grudge match going with her, and grudge rhymes with fudge. They were fighting it out, tackling eachother to the very end of the race, and were about to cross nose to nose when the Finish Line's quick thinking older sister pulled out her camera to capture the moment they passed the checkered line. The image captured was wrought in drama, passion, intensity, and energy that could only be caught between two friends whose desire for friendship paralleled their desire for victory.
The leaves were cleared, Granny Smith and Greymare tied...for first. But the greatest achievement of the day was when the fillies Finish Line and her sister Photo Finish each got their cutie marks.
