I've seen it work with one of those drawers from the larger bureaus (or chest of drawers). The idea being that the drawer "covers" your body. If it's one of those small ones I reckon it would fail. I haven't played Amnesia myself, I'm to scared of those kinds of games so I watched Let's Plays instead. (Tobuscus and Mangaminx make great entertainment while scaring you half to death, Toby mainly for hardly using the lantern if at all while rambling about something or other, and Mangaminx for just being an awesome girl who continues on even if the place is crawling with Mr Face, while rambling about something or other. )
