imo they would really stand if they do held hands, not shown fists like they're 'bout kickin each other's asses.
so... the pic actually says something like "black versus white. say YES to kick ass"
also, you forgot there are some asian ppl who exist in this world too.

I feel I must disagree. I think, in the way this image is constructed, the way they weave in and out of each other, it pulls them together instead of pitting them against each other. And instead of having knuckles bared, which certainly would be more indicative of violence, the fact that they're staged with wrists forward, exposing the most venerable part of the arm, gives it a more peaceful, or peace-promoting, feel. To me, they seem to be linking arms more than taking them up in combat.
I think the nationalities the artist chose to portray work well. People understand the history of strife between white and African Americans; the equal suffering suffered by Asian Americans through history may not be as common knowledge to them. Despite this, I don't think this piece focuses on specific skin colours as much as this: that white and black are polar ends of the tonal spectrum, and these polar opposites are standing together as one.

I still can't figure out how you made the arms come together...so perfect. I also love how you have the whole arm as a strong lifted fist. It's solid and symbolic.

This is a very nice piece! I must say what could also be interesting is to extend the arms and turn the arms into ribs, so you could add a heart in the BG. Together, the arms protect the heart, and if one or the other goes missing, then all is naught.
Then again, I think the simplicity of this piece is what helps make it profound.

when I was looking for the pose to choose I had several options: hands opened, fists clenched or holding hands in some way... Hands opened didn't have enough impact in my eyes, holding hands was too complex and not that easy readable graphically so I chose this one...
but yeah: great idea you have, forming ribs,.. thx !!!
maybe I'll get back to some kind of similar idea..

but I'm able to give you an explanation about the V it forms
V stands for Victory
and then: the arms are reaching towards something higher, fighting for a higher, common goal...
that's how I see it..

I however interpreted the interlaced arms with fists clenched as unity and determination of both 'colours' in the fight against racism. At lease I've seen that. It's actually a very common visual in political propaganda(neutral connotation).
