Description

Paws were heavy on the ground as Echo were to walk across the barren lands outside of Safe Haven. A small pouch was around his back and on his back was a cloak made the skin of a banshee, something Echo hoped would help him in the weather he would be facing later on. The small cat had been cautious as he walked, weary to not encounter any ashen for he did not want to waste any energy. He would need it all for the tasks at hand, that is… If he could find the seeker he was searching for. Goldenthunder, a she-cat Echo had seen around Safe Haven. His ears had picked up on rumors that she would be returning soon to Safe Haven but he wanted to meet her before she could. Echo desiring her help.

He had debated many times on who he would want to get help from, preferably someone with darker fur, a trait that Goldy definitely had. With the task given by his mentor he needed someone who could be seen in the snow. It would be so bad if he were to lose whoever he was with while traveling in a winter wonderland. The tom frowned. He was going to yet another winter wonderland, because apparently winterfest wasn’t winter enough. Why she would send the smallest, most hairless cat in all of Haven to go and survive in a frozen wasteland he couldn’t understand. It was so easy for him to get cold, but alas. That is why he had gone to little and commissioned a cloak. No way he would freeze to death during an outing.

His mind was focused on both the ridiculousness of traveling through snow and making sure he arrived at her final point on time. The edge of the World, apparently the seeker wanted to soil that laid there so he had heard. He himself had been curious as to it, but he had never really and truly wanted to go to this particular site. The height of it, the impending drop? It made his heart drop as deep as the cliff which the safe point rested in.  The world outside of Haven was a strange one, and it was one he has heard so many complain about. Although Echo never did understand that to be honest. It was weird, dangerous, and half the time it terrified the tom out of his wits, but he loved it. Somehow it sent thrill through him.

By the time he had arrived at the drop-off the small tom was weary of the world that thrilled him, so much so he could hardly spend any time to admire the sight of the sea that spanned past him. No, he was far too tired. As it turned out. All his supplies were heavier to travel with than he had expected and things all were somewhat looking the same as he was bored out of his wits by the travel. The small tom made a mental note to himself. Next time, bring fewer things. Perhaps he would leave a few at the resting point, or maybe he could get Goldy to carry it? That was always a possibility. He knew in any case all his items were perhaps a bit too heavy for him to carry alone.

Soon enough the stairs he had been traveling ceased and he found himself entering a cave, almost instantly he fell to the ground in a pile and took a deep breath. He was done, an entire day of traveling? While not truly that much, it was enough to where he wanted a rest. Cold eyes scanned around the cavern for a moment.  No signs of life. He sighed in relief, if there were no paw steps it meant he had managed to arrive before Goldy. Wonderful~ Softly he pulled the cloak off, pushing it into the corner along with his bag and gently he removed his mask and the bracelets. Even the scarf he had earned from Winterfest was gone and pushed into the pile.

Free from what he had been wearing the espion softly curled up at the edges of the cave, his head resting on his paws while he slowly relaxed. He would wait, wait and wait until either ashen or feline arrived.

“Uuuuuuggggghhh”

A groan sounded from echo who was rolling around on his back in the soil that swirled with colors. Azariah had come to join him and currently was attached to his tail, while normally this would send Echo into a fit. He welcomed the small creature, and by welcome one means he was flicking his tail around so that Azariah would be tossed around like a small tiny piece of string. The Snake-like creature was hissing and growling as he would be flipped around by Echo, only biting down harder on Echo’s tail to keep itself from flying. For some reason, the small game he was playing with his familiar entertained Echo beyond belief, or perhaps it just merely seemed so due to how there was nothing else he could do.

Where was she? The sun was setting, did she die? Had he heard wrong? Maybe an ashen had found her and attacked, leaving her injured and hurt. With any of those options, he would want to claw someone's ears. Either for misinformation or because he was bored, or because it would mean that the seeker he wanted was gone and he would have to return back to safe haven to find another. None of the options being pleasant ones. His tail slowly ceased tossing Azariah around and instead curled up near his body, Echo’s paws moving to pull his familiar off of his tail and to be pressed against his chest. Echo beginning to softly lick at the fins that were splayed along the familiars head.  “Do you think she will be here soon?” he asked softly, “I don’t want to stay here too much longer.”

    “Who will be here?”

Echo jumped. The hairless feline had been so preoccupied in his attentions to Azariah he had not noticed the approach of another. Blinking he gave a slow look, seeing a dappled cat in the entrance. Almost instantly Echo’s ears perked up, “Goldy!” He chirped out brightly even though he had never had a solid conversation with her before. The she-cat blinked, the reddish tinge eyes looking around for a moment. “Are you here alone?” She asked gently

A smile of silver crossed over Echo’s maw as he stood up, abandoning the battered familiar who had calmed down to move towards the lovely feline. His small form twirled around her and rubbed against her legs as he was to answer. “Yes, yes I am, and actually that is what I want to talk to you about!” Echo spoke this, command on the tip of his tongue, wanting her to trust him.

“You wanted to talk to me?” The seeker began to move into the cavern, setting down her own supplies and her seekers pack near where the hairless apprentice had stashed his own items. Echo’s eyes were locked on the pack as it were to be set down, he would definitely get her to carry some of his things for him during this. No two ways about it.

“Yes, I did.” He smiled, moving to stand in front of Goldy while she was to sit down and curl her tail neatly around her paws. “You see I need to try and find something, and I would love it if you could join me~”
