Description It is so easy when walking in a city to pass by doorways without even noticing them somtimes. This door is over 470 years old, and I wonder at the characters that passed through it over the years. The Brotherhood of the Blackheads was formed in Tallinn, Estonia in around 1343. It served to accomodate visiting bachelor merchants who took the north African Saint Maurice as their patron. The House of the Blackheads was built in 1531, and the organisation survived until about 1940 when the Soviets turfed out the last survivors.
