So I've been working on developing the dragon species in my Nyerla headworld! In it, they're not like you'd expect, with them being closer to resembling mammals than actual reptiles (similar to wyverns being closer to birds rather than lizards).

In Nyerla, dragons are small creatures (about the size of a wild rabbit on Earth) that are technically wild but can be kept semi-tame such as falcons in our world. They're often used for dragonry, the Nyerla equivalent of falconry. Some wyvern species are kept to deliver long-distance messages, but dragons are used mostly for hunting sports and are also often kept as a status symbol by richer folks. Dragon-keeping is particularly popular among thylacines (it's also easier for them, as they have opposable thumb claws).
