Old man McMilkshake. Yet another character from Halfwolf, that old book I wrote years ago.

Morfran is the deuteragonist of book one. He's Aphria's grandfather (though she doesn't know that for most of the story) and shares her gift to enter the world between the living and dead in his dreams with her. After seeing how the Lake Pack mistreats Aphria and refuses to train her, he decides to lend her a paw by training her in secret, a huge risk for both of them as they're from opposing packs, Morfran being from the Moss Pack.

The duo soon form a close connection and after they both are banished from their respective packs after their secret training sessions have been discovered, they set out on a quest Aphria gets through her dream visions: to gather five remaining wolfdogs with the same gift, five wolfdogs who are said to save all of wolfkind from the evil King Hawk.

During one scene in book one Morfran ends up saving Aphria's life on a raging river. He is swept away and falls off a waterfall, surviving but becoming paralyzed in the lower half of his body. From then on Aphria has to go on her mission alone as Morfran in this state cannot cross the huge mountain range to make the journey north as they intended. From there on the story focuses more on Aphria and her struggle to lead and find her own footing without Morfran's guidance in this world.
