Rufus and Roscoe are brothers, and they have grown up together living with their pack. They are just now entering their adult stages, but they still have to abide by certain rules that their parents made for them. One of the most important ones being to stay withing the boundaries at which they can wonder off alone. If they ever went off alone, they had to stay in their own territory. They could go no further than just past the river. Ahead of the river was a jungle. The jungle was not their territory, and it belonged to other raptors that weren't very friendly. They had a different moral code, and would likely kill the two brothers on sight if they were to be seen. Rufus and Roscoe were running around within their territory and were running just along the river. Rufus was older than Roscoe by just a couple minutes. Rufus was also that of a stereotypical, older brother. A slight bit of a jerk and an overconfident attitude, and willing to take risks. Roscoe was a bit more responsible but also had a grumpy attitude, and preferred to play things safe. They were looking for fish in the river to catch and eat, some having a very similar color of scales as their own skin, while few were more of a brownish color or the color of bass. Most of the fish matched the two raptor's skin colors. One of the two brothers looked up to see a pretty and rare butterfly fluttering about. It was on the opposite side of the river. "Look! It's one of those orange butterflies we don't usually see!" Rufus yelled. Roscoe had his head down by the river, getting a drink, and Roscoe talked back by saying "It probably came from the jungle." Rufus started chasing the orange, fiery butterfly, hopping across the river to chase it. The butterfly ended up disappearing into the jungle just in front of Rufus. "I advise we just let it go." Roscoe added. Rufus turned his head around while his body still faced the jungle and said "You said it probably came from the jungle. Maybe we can find more of them in there!" Roscoe lifted his head up. "Are you crazy!? We can't go into the jungle, that's forbidden! You know what's in there, we can't just-" Rufus ended up jumping on a rock to be on a higher elevation than Roscoe when he interrupted him. "Psh! Come on, we ain't gonna go that far out!" Roscoe squinted at Rufus. "Even then, it's still dangerous!" Rufus lowered his body and head down at Roscoe from on top of the rock. "Aw, no, you're just scared to go out there even by a little bit!" Roscoe "I'm not scared, and even if I was, my point still stands that it's too risky! We don't need to get ourselves killed over a bug!" Rufus mocked him with a wimpy voice. "Awwwohhh it's too dangwous! It's too wisky! We non't need nu get ourselves killed over a buuuug!" Roscoe "Which are all valid points!" Rufus "Which are all valid poiiints!" Roscoe "Would you stop!" Rufus "Woulnd you staap!" Roscoe "That's it!" Roscoe lunged at the top of the rock at Rufus, but Rufus jumped down and ran a few meters ahead while Roscoe frowned, laying over the rock clumsily, almost having over lunged. Rufus smirked back at Roscoe but still facing the jungle. Roscoe jumped down the rock and continued to chase him as Rufus escaped into the jungle. Rufus disappeared into the vegetation, and Roscoe stopped just in front of the first couple of tropical plants where Rufus has stood. Rufus yelled out from within the jungle. "You can't get me! Hahaaa!" Roscoe spoke quietly to himself. "I gotta get him back before he gets himself hurt again!" Roscoe ran into the jungle after Rufus. Rufus would make sure not to get too far ahead of Roscoe, as he wanted him to stay close to him, but if Roscoe was to have stayed back out of the jungle, Rufus wouldn't have minded going alone anyway, so Roscoe felt he had no choice but to run after him, and he couldn't just go tell their parents and the rest of the pack because despite how irritating Rufus might have been to Roscoe, he didn't want to get his brother in trouble. Neither of them had ever gotten each other in trouble before, and they had always looked after each other no matter what.
