Description
This is the seventh armor from a series of 14 armors that I've designed: the "Alpha-Omega series ", that have some role in a larger story (which I used to call as CUETZPALIN Mythos but is still far away from being completed). Background Story:
THETA
Created by ABEL Inc in 1985
Power: Makes user able to adhere to most surfaces, and drastically decreases physical damage
Current user: Yao Wu (USA)
Currently owned by the private institution known as AXIS Military Academy, which mission is protect Tredius from demon-related threats (actually, an initiative by Ulhaden Corp & ABEL Inc, two major weapon industries that have created the Alpha-Omega series armors. The AXIS is more likely an academy for young bounty hunters who're unknowingly testing a likely inhuman technology, and doing the firty job for the UN to "cleanse" everything dangerous that escapes its hidden slave pits).
Yao Wu, born in 1964, has worked for the ABEL Inc for several years, at least since the development of the Iota armor in 1987, reserved to use by the military of the Yamato Republic, his homeland, which government had previously bought the BETA armor in 1974, however losing it to a local criminal, Kenshiro Shimada, who has been acting as a vigilante, on his way exposing collaboration of the government with the Criminal Yamabishi Syndicate. His actions stopped however with his capture in 1981, even though his fate remains unknown and his armor was later spotted as property of the Socialist State of Tahuantinsuyu's military. This has angered ABEL's CEO, Joseph Bridges, having favored the UTSST during the Chichihuacuauhco War of the eighties alongside other technology he and his agents accused of being property from British Scientist, businessman and engineer Howard Fang. Those accusations never materialized, however, and Fang would later join the Eastern European Ulhaden Corp in 1993, even becoming a member of the AXIS from its foundation in 2000 up to 2006. As for Yao, besides being a skilled scientist on bio-engineering and bio-chemistry, his role has been pivotal to restore political and economical alliances between ABEL and Yamato after the BETA-theft incident. The theft of BETA has even been seen as an event which raised the industrial development of war machines in Yamato, leading to the production of Mechas and Hardsuits for its military, such as the model that would later become the UARN-09 Ikuchi. Things didn't go any smooth, however, after the Iota armor has been reportedly stolen by a Yamabishi member, Hyuuga Senshi, in 1994. This time, Yao insisted he should use some armor to detain the criminal, however the Yamabishi has kept the Iota for many more years, and the intervention of ABEL, and even AXIS 2000 onwards, wasn't permitted by the Yamato military, as if recovering it would be an act of challenging the Yamato national sovereignty. For Yao, it could only mean the Yamabishi was actually cooperating with someone in the national miltary, so he set out to investigate, what had him working in the J-Lab, a private laboratory specialized on bio-engineering and on the development of drugs destined for their own super-soldiers (some of them, known in other places as "Molochians", had nanotechnology able to turn their organic tissues into specific metal-based substances, or at least simulate those metals' properties). Yao's first mission using the Theta happened around 1999, when he was sent to retrieve the missing Gamma armor from its current user, Cade Gilson, a former lab assistant at ABEL's Canadian branch that has stolen it in 1997 for his proper use, qualified as theft of private property and classified military technology. For at least two years at large, Cade has likely killed Earl Lennox, the previous agent assigned to Theta, and Yao finally got his chance to act, being pointed for creating his "Gamma suppression serum" from his work at the Yamato-based J-Lab and also the researches led so far on the Gamma armor, kept without a user since the tragedy of Edwin Murdock in 1981, which has turned the Chichihuacuauhco's War's tide against the UN, and has damaged the ABEL credibility for a long time since. As expected, Gilson has been neutralized, and Yao became the official user of Theta. He's also survived operation Millennium, which happened on Arizona's Death Valley Desert in 2000, being able to retrieve the armors from the agents that died and also those who survived. A founding member of the AXIS Military Academy, he's become a teacher, specialized in chemistry, and acts since then, as well as an agent, who oversees and helps to judge the students more fit to use the Alpha-Omega series. Even though working at AXIS, Yao still keeps contact with the private J-Lab, and has become more aware and less egative towards the collaboration of the Yamato and Yamabishi, seeing this corrupt union as a mere consequence of a "greater good", which is the aim of more competition and economical development of the weapon industry on Yamato.
As a teacher, he's used to figures such as Ephraim Frére, AXIS' director, and other teachers, such as Gilles Psycke . Yao may not be the most demanding or moralist teacher at AXIS, however he harbors his own work ethics, which "cares little for emotions and more for results", and is often considered as a visionary who made the current state of the INTERPOL metal soldiers possible. His collaboration with Yamato, the Interpol and J-Lab aren't known to most students, however those curious enough may get that info, and in that case he'd proudly affirm his work, even though this could charge him against International Laws (the Yamabishi, responsible for the J-Lab, are slavers and drug-dealers. Even though they're the ones with better access to "resources" needed on the research for the Super Soldier development program, the corrupt Yamato military agents who have helped build it know better than to expose the true intentions of their research, which is profit for military, engineering and vehicle companies, so they rather publicize J-Lab's image as a "center for Science". Saying something is "pro-Science" will promptly alleviate the consciousness of most of its sponsors and the population, even though it's unethical and costly for public money - because the national military are sponsored by taxes collected by the government from the working class, even though most of these taxes don't reach the officers, soldiers, cadets and even veterans, but only the high-ranking ones, who're more politicians than soldiers because of their work; the J-Lab, too, is fund by public taxes. This way, a "Pro-Science Public Institute" is actually the public disguise for a crime-collaborating, slave-trading, drug-producing, corrupt private network of companies).
- Yes, apart from the character, this design is inspired by tokusatsu, sci-fi, hi-tech and fantasy stuff, but in this case mainly by MARVEL's Spider-man (namely, its Iron Spider Suit)
