I'm extremely hesictant about refs you know , but that was differentI found a pic that really gave me a feeling about the next angel
I liked much this and solved to follow up
to possible catch the feeling and way to force up some unhabitual trace
then to relate it , I'm apprehensive about refs , they all really helps , but sometimes it turns you a copy machine and this is not my way .
i like to take out inside the mind ( there all informations are mixed and distorted and it turns as new thing as new vision

I think refs are okay. Sometimes you just like one aspect of a picture and want to implement it in your design, like a gauntlet or some detail or pose or something. nice drawing

You did the blurring really well. The foreground fades into the background very nicely. I thought it was a photograph at first.
