Description
Made with JWildfire, starting with output from the "Lum2-FOUR1" script from the "Lumiere 2 Scripts - Michael Bourne April 2022 " collection. Unfortunately, if I want to render through GPU, I have to use the "flames" output from the easy movie maker, and since they are calculated in isolation this leaves me no option to configure motion blur in practice. This is a reason why in the past I've used fractorium to render animations with motion blur, as it also has more settings for the motion blur itself, but the post_axis_symmetry variation used in this one isn't supported there (as far as I can tell, it only has point symmetry).
The title reflects how I ended up with a smooth "whacking" motion when the gif loops, that looks like a purple hammer. It took a bit of effort to make it reverse direction without being jarring to watch. It's a very chaotic animation, even with 180 frames, I find it nice to watch how the identifiable hammer object melds in and out of the amorphous mess of flying colors. Many of the individual frames look nice on their own, too.
