Description
Troubled by his conflicting parents and haunted by the monster that dwells in his bedroom closet, Gregory, an anxious timid young boy must confront his demons and defeat the true threat that exists behind closed doors.May, 2009.

That was quite a chilling and powerful story about the true nature of 'monsterhood'. The lines are blurred between human and monster.
I see this as a metaphor for the effects of abuse on children, because the monsterous nature of the boy could be said to have come from his father.

I have to ask though, what inspired this short film?

Tough question for I'm inspired by a lot of things.
I guess, from a technical point of view, my inspirations for Behind Closed Doors that I was conscious of were animations by Suzie Templeton, Run Wrake, Pixar Studios and many more. I also like the visual direction of Chris Cunningham and Guillermo del Toro. There's also a lot of other films that have influenced me but that list probably goes on forever.
Atmosphere, texturing and ambience was inspired from the Silent Hill games.
As for the story and concept; I just wrote a story and screenplay based around some ideas and themes I brainstormed in advance.

Hmm...I hope this isn't taken as an insult but the monster boy very much reminded me of Ichigo's inner Hollow from the anime Bleach. Other than that very nice! Creepy and chilling: the way I like it.

This is just genius. I love how you put a twist on the word "monster" and just how true it is.
The animation seems very unique to me. I'm wondering what program you use for your art.
About the characters: Holy c**p. That was such a twist in the end about Gregory. At first I thought he was just an innocent boy, a victim of circumstance. Well, not anymore.
Aw, poor mom, I'm glad she was okay in the end. 
That father of Gregory's was a jerk! I was half pleased, half freaked out when Gregory killed the old b*****d.
Oh man, this was so cool and creepy at the same time. I'm gonna watch it again with my sis.

Brilliant story, and so well executed. The suspense was just perfect, and had all the classic elements of a true horror.
