Honestly it reminds me of a fanfic over on SpaceBattles (The Digicrest of Escalation) where the main character uses DigiEggs as if they were spirits (Digimon Frontier) which has side effects (Courage made her impulsive but left her drained and Knowledge made her arrogant but left temperately mentally shutdown after the transformation).
