first of all... MERRY CHRISTMAS 2012 (and Happy New Year 2013) peopleeeeeeee!!!!

it's been a very long time since I drew something like this.. hahaha..
this picture was inspired by "Tangled: Rapunzel" movie..

Sketch: about 40 minutes
Digital & Finishing: about 30 hours (it took 2 days! hahaha)

Short Story Behind
After all those battles with Organization XIII ended, everyone was back to their own place; including Sora, Riku, and Kairi were back to Destiny Island. Christmas almost came and the three of them along with Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie were decorating the whole island with Christmas decorations. Colorful lights were placed on the coconut trees, fireworks were prepared alongside the beach, etc. They finished decorating on 24th December afternoon and had the party 'til dawn. Thinking it would be such a waste if they took their 'hard-work' off that fast, they decided to leave the decoration until the day of new year.

On 26th December. Sora, Riku, and Kairi were at Destiny Island, enjoying their peaceful moment.

"I can't believe it's almost new year already." Sora yawned while resting his body on the sand.

Kairi smiled. "M'hm.." She looked at the sky. "How's everybody out there? I hope they're having a great Christmas and New Year too."

Suddenly, Sora sat up and shouted. "I know! Let's send them greeting cards!"

"But how? Wish we still had the Gummi Ship, we could deliver them all." Riku sighed.

The three of them thought for a while until Sora finally came with his idea. "How about we send them through the sky? Like.. Send them flying? Haha.."

Riku and Kairi looked at each other. "Just like Sora. Your idea is sometimes brilliant." Kairi giggled. "But we can make it. I have an idea."

After hearing Kairi's explanation, the three of them nodded and started collecting the materials to make the 'greeting cards'. They all gathered at the beach and started working. It took until almost midnight at 31st December when they finally finished their work.

"Done!" Kairi smiled. "Sora, Riku, now's your turn. Light them up!"

Sora and Riku nodded. They summoned their keyblades and, "Firaga!" light all the 'paper balloons' to send them flying. After all the 'paper ballons' flew, they looked at the sky.

"I hope those will arrive to the right places." Kairi said.

"Don't worry. I'm sure they will." Sora grinned while taking a Paopu fruit and took a bite. "Because our hearts will reach theirs."
