Description

Enjoy! As pointed out by my friend, the lighting makes the blade look a little flat, but it's pretty thick in the model.

Blender, Cycles, PS CS6. 200 samples, 10 minute render.

When you render folding knives, are you placing a pivot pin and showing the blade as it is in the open and then closed position? Folders are very tricky to design because the elements have to work in the open and closed position and all points along the arc between. The reason for my question is that in this image I expect to see the tip of the blade in the hole at the end of the handle in the closed position. Otherwise the handle would need to be disproportionately long to accommodate the blade and the hole. Having said that I very much appreciate your work. The primary reason for my presence here is to draw fresh creative input from knife illustrations made by people whose minds are not filled with the technical constraints of actually making a knife.
