Let us downsize for a bit. So approximately 17 months ago was my last instance of doing anything that resembled a chibi style, and I wanted to follow up on it more, but back then, there was an approach to it I had that worked but I didn't find entirely to a liking, and I knew I had to rework how I did it to give it that polish it deserved. It was going to be immediate, but I held it off for other ideas I had at the time. Then I started holding it off for waaaay too long, and just recently got the urge to find a styling I like. After nearly a week of testing out nearly four designs and proportioning to all kinds of extremes, I found a good start to the chibi style I would like to attempt following for the years to come.
I went and based it off of Shibuya Rin of the Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls series for she has this "cool" vibe to her I like, and has a good head on her shoulders, with fine sensibilities to boot. This is also influenced by the antics that one Kusotoko put forth not too long ago, and he remains a rapscallion and I always enjoy what he does, so he can consider this as a little giftie for him. As for the drink cup...I wanted to mess with some minor item interaction and I was visiting movie theatres as this idea was getting thought up, and you see a lot of drink cups going around in those places, so that item was what I stuck with.
Did a little bit of simple shading, I had plans for some backgrounds involving basic shapes, but since I consider this a "new start" of getting used to this style again, I felt like keeping it basic was a better way to go. But soon enough, I'll be pushing the limits of where I can go with this.
