With my head spinning with the situation at the moment and the troubles coming with it I decided to give myself the task of practicing values in my art!
I found this super cool tutorial by Marco Bucci: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPeqyG…

He suggest that you draw a painting while using color but you simply hide them so you can only see the grey version while drawing. This forces your to concentrate on light and shadow and composition more than anything and also proves that as long as you get them kinda right... the colors will follow!
I would have never imagine that this actually works out so decent and I am super happy with the result and I think it created such an interesting play of colors! There are spots where I used blue, pink and green right next to each other and it shouldnt work... but it still does?

This surely inspires me to be more daring with my colors!

Btw this here is my own species called Arbol Sombra and I am in the process of reworking it!
