Description
Hello,How is your drawing going? I am currently working on two different comic pages and hopefully an illustration I would like to get done this week but first, I wanted to get this next tutorial page done and next my YouTube video.
On this edition of Kiley’s Korner, an introduction to women’s body shapes, starting with skinny and, “Overweight”…but technically, by shape standards, this would be round and column. I don’t think you can sum up women’s bodies to just six shapes. I have seen a lot of these shapes combined and contradicted. I think the most important part to drawing women no matter their size is how you portray the flow of their body. This goes along with what I said in the first installment with skin flowing like water.
With bigger women, while you may see similarity to the male counterpart, their breast often are rounded and don’t flow to the side in the way men’s do. Petite women are flatter and sides can be seen as straight, but it is important to still draw some curve into their hips. I drew little fairy wings on her because I wanted to have a little fun. In the future, there will be further pieces for thighs, hands, and legs.
I avoided drawing actual genitalia on these but I have a goal. If I reach 500 watchers, I will draw a tutorial on genitalia that I will post possibly on Ko-fi as a reward for anyone who would find it useful. (I haven’t checked their policy on nudity in art but I know I can’t post that here)
So, if you find this helpful, it would mean the world to me if you could favorite it and give me a watch. I’ll keep working on these as long as they are helpful. Your feedback has been so valuable and honestly motivating as I go along. I have set the goal of reaching 500 watchers this year, and while it may seem silly or implausible, I think it’s a worthwhile goal.
DISCLAIMER: (I will be adding this to every Kiley’s Korner I post)
This tutorial is not meant to be THE definitive way to draw characters. I am a firm believer that realism is killing art but I love observing and drawing the human form. These are based on my observations and are meant only to inspire and assist those who feel like they could use them for their own art. No matter how you draw or what you draw, YOU define what makes you and your art great, so keep drawing. <3
