Overview:
The Lucidity Class Light Cruiser was the brain child of War Minister Moiestu Toeikar. Created in the years leading up to the 89th Courdeel Incursion there was a push to modernize the dominion's aiging and increasingly disorganized navy. Minister Toeikar observed a trend towards stealthy Courdeel vessels which could go undetected and proposed it would not be long before they were used to exact lasting damage. Thus advocated for the construction of a ship which could be used to effectively detect, interdict and destroy even the most well-obscured stealth craft. Employing technologies which were at the time still not mature but which would later become tentposts of the dominion doctrine such as spacetime hypercrystal interdiction, subspace induction scanning and singularity reactors the ship was expensive when it was introduced. Toeikar battled endlessly to get even an order of the ships constructed.

With the outbreak of the 89th incursion, Toeikar was vindicated as the courdeel used their advanced stealth technology to great effect. Though the ships were few in number at the time they were instrumental at protecting many key locations. Helping to spot stealth craft they averted the destruction of several critical gaussian worlds and installations. Some going as far as to herald it as "the ship that saved the dominion".

In the years that followed Toeikar would later be promoted and laterally moved to Galactic Admiral, while maintaining close ties with the war ministry and overseeing the millenium modernization program, developing the tactical playbook of modern dominion doctrine. The Lucidity class and the technologies utilized would become the template for the modern gaussian fleet.
Passive Defense:
The hull armor is comprised of many spaced layers of Tazutun quasicrystal coated muran plates. This would be alloyed with a small amount Arsium-345 to increase material strength and linked to a thermally superconducting system designed to which away heat. The inner layer would be made of thousands of layers of teflon-coated graphmesh with conductive materials forming a faraday cage around the internals of the ship and prevent spalling. The armor of the Lucidity class was weaker than most other vessels due to it being an older and smaller ship, though there were additional internal armor bulkheads around the bridge and midship main reactor giving it a decent degree of survivability.
Active Defense:
The Lucidity class operates a standard hard light shield. Functioning more like reactive armor than a true shielding system, it generates nearly indestructible plates of hardlight around the ship to intercept incoming fire. Being that the ship must detect and react to incoming fire to activate the shield means that some of its powerful sensors can make the shield more powerful. Though the Lucidity has somewhat more limited reactor power and power storage than larger vessels, its shield works smarter, rather than harder. Only raising for as long as needed and precisely where it is needed. Still the shield can be quickly depleted by sustained attacks, or strikes from multiple angles.
Weapons:
1 Spinal Light Hardlight Beam projector. This beamer is considered by some to be underpowered as the ship’s primary weapon. It is still a terawatt level directed energy weapon able to scythe apart asteroids and unshielded ships easily.

-Shipmaster AI. Generic ‘dumb’ AI used to operate ship functions.
-25 Cyberwarfare AI. Dumb AI which endlessley paruse the ships systems searching for discrepancies that could indicate attempted hacking and autonomously purge malignant software.
-PID system. You cant fly the ship if you don’t have a personal identifier symbiote. PID symbiotes were being explored as a concept with only military test versions at the time. Modern ships have more sophisticated models.
-Shield control computer. Advanced system linked into the sensors that uses predictive algorithms and sensor monitoring to anticipate enemy fire and generate hard light plates to avoid damage. Can be tuned for specific weapons or throttled to allow the ship to take some damage but use less power.

-Tightbeam radio arrays. Secondary communications arrays that can beam powerful directional radio signals. These can double as jammers.
-Subspace communications. A system which beams long radio waves through subspace configured to arrive at a set destination. A potentially one-way method of communication which is substantially FTL.
-Entangled Comms Line. A system with entangled exotic particles and ultra-low-interferance observation equipment. Used for low bandwidth but ultra secure and instantaneous communication. A switchboard designed to accept chips which contain one half of an entangled particle pair.
-ECM suite including dazzlers and sensor blinders of various types.

-Advanced passive FEMS system able to see all waveforms of the electromagnetic spectrum and heavily hardened against interference. The ship chapioned the “Lucidity Type” forward sensor node; the rounded structure on the prow. This module would be incorporated into other ships. Also contained 3 sets of LT-5 Compound electromagnetic systems.
-Active Radar and visible light laser lidar system.
-PND (Photodiode Neutrino Detector) Advanced photodiode neutrino detection system utilizing specialized photodiodes more likely to interact with neutrino and locate their sources.
-SIS (Subspace Induction Sensor System MK101 or MK111). The MK101 was the first combat ready itertion of the SIS system, the first system designed to scan the entirety of 11-dimensional spacetime. The 101 iteration had abysmal range and resolution. Modern Lucidities are built or upgraded with the MK111 which is moderately better while consimuing similar amounts of power and filling the same form factor.
-GMTSS (Gravitic Microtractor Sensor System). System that shoots out microscopic tractor wires from newtonian gravity generators. If it pulls on something it detects the counterforce on the gravity generator it checks this data with conventional scans. If it identifies a hidden mass source, the alarm is raised. Similarly computationally and power intensive to SIS system.
Utilities:
-Small Machine shop. This isn’t the full blown factory available on larger ships. They cant really produce anything beyond the most basic components on here, any damage control or servicing of ancillary craft must be done almost strictly with onboard part stocks.
-Bio reactor. Produces food from cell cultures for the crew and onboard marines.
-Onboard hospital with an automated reconstruction theatre.
-The life support system uses a cryogenic ductless atmosphere system. This means the atmospheric gasses are liquefied and pumped around the ship, the ship has no air ducts only small insulated cryogenic tubes. The ship’s internal atmosphere is made of an argon-neon-oxygen mixture.
-There are sterilization sprayers hidden around the ship, specifically on the entrance to the bridge, in the hangars and docking gangways.
-The ship has powerful reactive inertial dampeners in the livable, capable of cancellation up to 42g of acceleration. However the entire crew are provided with and drilled on heading to crash couches in the event of an emergency. The artificial gravity system also produces microscopic gravity waves configured to interfere with teleportation and phasic technology.
-The lucidity has 2 spacetime lattice interdiction systems. One is a low power localized field only surrounding the immediate vicinity of the ship. This field autonomously activates when the ship leaves FTL and denies any form of teleportation stream or phasic weaponry from being sent inside the vessel. The second is a genuine interdiction field which takes a non-negligible portion of the ship’s power output to sustain, and has a range of about 5 light-seconds.

-There are also a few dozen momentum capacitors. The Lucidity class has very little ability to store large power for bursts of intensive activity. Thus power must be more judiciously used.

The Lucidity (due more in part to being lightly armored on the outer hull and only having armor over the reactor and bridge) is actually faster than the standard 35G acceleration; able to attain 42G, though the ship has no afterburner system.
-There are also 32 major reaction thrusters, which are low profile but powerful with almost no ramp-up time. These are used to quickly maneuver the ship sideways in combat to evade unguided fire at long range.
