The soft snow made the journey longer, but the carful trudging through the deep drifts was better then battling the tumultuous winds above. Warming spring air breaking away the winter winds made for unpleasant flight. But the typical sounds of spring were absent, only the creak of branches and crunch of his own footsteps broke the silence. Vespertine was on his way to a near by village, small as it was, it boasted the best leather, perfect for necklace cords and woven bracelets. But no smoke drifted though the sky, and no murmuring of dromaeus voices reached Vespertine's pricked ears. He stopped to sniff, but only the scent of cold snow and pine stood to greet him. Something caught his eyes though the trees; a new clearing stretching up the mountain and into the valley below. Broken trees and a single roof poked though the powdery snow."Creator's fire..."
