Description
Hitmonchan (Japanese: エビワラー Ebiwaraa) is a Fighting-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I.Hitmonchan's appearance is very similar to a human, when compared to other Pokémon. Its skin is a light brown color. Its appears to be wearing a purple, skirt-like attire and bright red boxing gloves. Its feet are also a purple color, giving it the appearance that he is wearing shoes. Its enlarged shoulders appear as large shoulder pads. The very top of its head is separated into five sections, and its face has visible eyes and a mouth but no nose.
Hitmonchan is an extremely resilient Pokémon who won't give up in the face of challenges. Any Hitmonchan may appear to be standing idly when in fact launching volleys of punches faster than bullet trains into thin air as practice. However, these punches do tire them out—after three minutes of intense work, they need to take light rests. Regardless of the setbacks they face, Hitmonchan are determined, having the spirit of champion boxers.Even during these breaks, Hitmonchan will often move around or jog quickly in place.
They are also skilled in sparring with light punches, allowing them to act as a sparring partners to fellow Hitmonchan or to aspiring human boxers (the latter of which who almost always lose, but learn from fights nonetheless). Like Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan can be found training in dojos, but can also sometimes be seen punching away at boulders in mountains.
Hitmonchan utilize their punching moves to the fullest, far more than any other Pokémon. Their punches can be so quick that it is possible that they are not able to be seen. Hitmonchan can learn all three elemental punches which are strong against elemental Pokémon that are weak against them. They can also punch so much that their punches slice through the air, but at the expense of their stamina. Even a slight graze will cause a burn, and can demolish concrete (which a Conkeldurr wields).
Hitmonchan evolves from Tyrogue at level 20 only when its Attack stat is lower than his Defense stat.
