Most of the RAF F-35B's are currently based at U.S. Marine Corps Air Station-Beaufort for training work ups. The first squadron is No. 617, the Dambusters. 617 will return to Great Britain in late 2017 for operational readiness in 2018. The second squadron will be a Royal Navy unit for HMS Queen Elizabeth.
