awsome work! i never seen that style of work before... sort of like a blend of impressionism and cross hatching. i love the way it came out... i definately have to try it out. i love crosshatching and this style definately works!

Beautiful! Very impressionistic! Or did I get that term wrong? Oh well. Very strong work I don't know if you intended the chin to blend in abit with the background, but it kind of distracted my eye. Very well done!

I love traditional art. even though my traditional skilzz blow, i realize the amount of skill required to do something like this. Im very impressed! strikes me as a little impressionistic in the stoke movements.

beautiful. reminds me of the impressionists.
i've also noticed it's all made of X shaped brushstrokes. that gives it a deeper psychological air, even deeper since it's a selfportrait.

Dios mio! that's awesome! I love everything about it... the eyes, the colours, the shades, the patterns, the texture, the overall look. whats even more unique about it is that you used your hands. Bravo! its beautiful

It's not normally a style I like but I'm really fond of the depth you've created by it. I also like how you've cropped the face.

i don't think those are brushstrokes. read the artist's comment: "Hand painting by James Adams."
bravo, by the way. be careful with that lead poison.

I like this alot.
I love the idea of using your hands to mix the paint, I've never tried painting with anything but brushes. I agree with mizutamari on the fact that the internet doesn't do it complete justice. Scanners and photographs usually don't capture some of the details.
Hmm...the way that the colors are blended reminds me a little bit of Van Gogh...

That is truly beautiful. I would love to stand in front of this... somehow, I don't ~think~ that the internet does it complete justice...

wow.
the array of colors are amazing!
and i totally dig the crosshatching method of brushwork!
it's like one of those beautiful impressionistic paintings whose image doesn't
define itself until you pull away from it.
beautiful work!
