For this week's personal project, I wanted to draw something unrelated to any already existing IP. I partially failed on this attempt.

I mentioned before I have a list of things I could draw for this project, usually arranged in complete chaos around my monitor and all over my desk. This one didn't come from any of them, and was rather a knee jerk reaction to having no clear idea of what to draw. So a random thought crossed my head, something about making a Movie Slate dragon, and here we are. I wasn't totally sold on the idea, but I ran with it, and I guess that's an important aspect of creating content.

Sometimes you shouldn't think too hard about it. Sure, it's good to have an idea in mind, and have the conviction and discipline to see it all the way through (this folder of drawings is starting to feel like it, to be honest), but don't get too married to the idea that you're never going to stop until it's absolutely perfect. Lately I've had just the simplest concept in mind, and then ran with it to figure out how it's supposed to look like while I am drawing it. That way it's easier to get the piece done and don't get too muddled on fixing details or changing things. Don't get too attached to your ideas, otherwise you end up finishing drawings you will never upload for fear of what will people think of them.
