Inked and colored version of Yoda sketch (previously uploaded to my scrapbook).

Sketched, Inked, and colored on 1/23/2011

I tried a different technique on this art work. I used a marker to ink/trace over my sketch onto a second piece of paper. Then after scanning that inked trace and loading it into Illustrator, I used Trace Lines and Live Color tools to automatically convert my lines to vectors.

My other technique involves importing the sketch into Illustrator and then drawing each of the vectors using my Wacom tablet and then cleaning it up via mouse to remove extra vertices, split lines, tighten corners and nodes. This technique takes hours, while the Trace and Live Color tools took minutes.

When I get more free time, I'll upload another inked/colored version of Yoda using the more time consuming method of digitally inking rather than manual inking and compare the final result.
