Description (2020)  In the early stage of development of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", the title character had a much different design. More "Avery" than "Disney". Then Richard Williams was brought on board and the rest is history. He was even voiced by Paul Reubens!
To better illustrate the differences between early Roger and final Roger, I adopted a familiar pose for this drawing often seen in promotional images for the film. Some key differences that prototype Roger had that were changed for finished Roger:
Ears are pointier and lack the pink "inner" portion.
Hair is the same color as the rest of his fur and slicked down.
Smaller eye balls that lack irises.
Huge nose and no whiskers, and smaller cheeks.
Two buck teeth as opposed to one.
Opened his mouth bigger when talking, and often showed off his large tongue.
No gloves and much larger hands.
No bow tie and overalls that are more form fitting.
No tail to speak of.
Bugs Bunny-like feet.

The only similarities between the two versions are skinny bodies and limbs and long feet. This Roger's eyes are also supposed to be colored light blue, but did not show up when I scanned the drawing into my computer.
