Mural in the basement of an abandoned home.
I was not able to find very much information about this abandoned home but there are a few details which I will share with you here. This brick and wood ranch style house was built in 1957. It had likely been sitting for about 4 years, maybe more after a fire had damaged the home. It looks as though the fire was relatively small and had been contained to the upstairs only. After the fire it looks as though renovations had started to take place but then were halted for unknown reasons. The west side of the home which included the master bedroom and kitchen were gutted down to the studs and the rest of the upstairs showed signs of smoke damage. The basement was relatively untouched with minor smoke damage and some of the floors covered in paper to protect the flooring during the renovations.
We may never know what took place at this home leading up to its abandonment and eventual demolition.
This home is located within a very wealthy neighbourhood and most recently sold for $5.5 million dollars for the land value only!! This is where it gets a little bit weird, at the same time that the previous listing took place, there was a second listing for the property with an asking price of $12.8 million. This second listing shows a digital mockup of a large McMansion and the listing says it would have had 5+3 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and a 6 car garage!!
What do you guys think, could you live in a home with this type of decor!?
Either way it would have been an incredible home at one time with original features such as the wallpaper, three large stone fireplaces and lots of wooden features throughout the home!!
