When it gets to the point of halo, who are we hiding the aliens from anymore?

Uhhh... I dunno... I do know that in the show "Stargate," despite the fact that humans fight across galaxies, only the members of the Stargate program know that aliens exist at all, so perhaps ONI tried to keep it a secret?
And furthermore, if we're not trying to hide the aliens, why does the MIB exist?
Come to think of it, they must have hated the Covenant war. Got to have cost them a few jobs...

Probably ran through the alphabet a couple dozen times. Thats why I think the MIB would be merged with the regular military intelligence... knowledge of alien races would become vital to the war.

Although honestly, if the MIB did exist in the Halo world, Humanity would have stood a better chance against the covies. Just think in terms of weapons alone. Series 4 De-atomizerswould work wonders against elites, not to mention the sheer power they would have if they were upgraded to ship-to-ship weapons. Humanity would have stood a fighting chance, you know?

That's a good point, i hadn't thought of that... it would turn the whole thing around. Of course if Earth were in direct contact with alien races, humanity's location would not have been hidden for as long as it was so we might have been taken out early before we could mobilize, since the whole war was their idea to begin with and we were pearl-harbored into it

Sorta... did you read "Contact Harvest?" They sorta didn't even know that we existed. Turns out that on forerunner-based tech, the glyph that says "Unknown forerunner tech," is the same glyph that humanity shows up as. The only reason why they started to come in and kill things was because they were looking for artifacts, and we were fighting back, and... well, it wasa comedy of misunderstanding.
Well, from that POV, I guess there could have been a more peaceful resolution to the conflict. I mean, if humanity was more in tune with aliens, they could have heard of the Halos, and possibly found the Ark first with advanced scanner tech and stuff. Something similar happened in the game series "Homeworld." With that much forerunner tech,and the power of the seven Halos backing them up, perhaps it would have been the HUMANS as the aggressors against the Covenant!
Wouldn't that be cool?

lol I knew about the backstory, but I have yet to read Contact Harvest. I hear its good though.
Hopefully humanity is smart enough to listen when the monitors are talking and would have learned about the flood before letting them out -_-

I dont mind the lack of spartans in the least... if there's no master chief, Johnson is a good replacement.
Im not a fan of the Nyland!Spartans.... I liked them better when I thought they all died on Reach and gave Chief something to kick himself over.
