Description
When Vanessa and her twin brother Remus were young, their parents were killed in an accident and were sent to an orphanage to be adopted by other families where they would be separated. Her brother did not want that to happen so both of them escaped from the orphanage whereupon they were abducted from Earth by a group of aliens that experimented on them by giving the innocent twins supersonic speed. They were told if either one wanted to be alive, they had to steal valuable objects for them which Vanessa knew wasn’t right, but had no choice. Over the years, she and her brother went down in infamy as The Runners as they stole many intergalactic treasures from many planets in multiple galaxies. Vanessa as she was now known as Quickspeed longed to return to Earth and use her powers to help people instead of robbing from them, but her brother forbid it as she and him were meant to be criminals. One night when invading an alien technology corporation, Quickspeed found a planetary teleporter and transported herself to Earth abandoning her brother who took on a villainous life where she was home once again. By the time she returned, she introduced herself as a new superheroine who can run at incredible speed and worthy of joining Super Cat and the Titans of Justice.
