Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Series II
SEASON 2, EPISODE 4: "The War That Doesn't Have To Be"

This is the sequel to "Star Trek: DS9" set in the year 2497 on the new space station Deep Space Nine with a new crew.

This Deep Space Nine and some of the main characters have already been introduced in the episode "Starlight" from "Star Trek: Stories Across Time And Space".

On this picture is USS Sisko from the prime universe and USS Sisko from the alternate universe in battle with the Indren cruiser (also from the alternate universe)...

A Short Description Of The Story:
USS Sisko is on a exploration mission in the Gamma Quadrant. They're trying to map more of the quadrant and find out anything new about Indren. After a while, they pick up a signal from a strange spatial anomaly. The signal is Starfleet, so they head closer. Suddenly, however, the anomaly pulls the ship in, and after a while they find themselves in an alternate reality where the Federation is at war with the Indrens. Captain Miller wants to know from his counterpart how the war started. All was supposedly well for a few months before they decided to enter Indren territory to establish diplomatic relations with them - and that was the mistake. If they had never returned to Indren territory, the war might never have started. Captain Miller realizes that the Federation in their universe wanted to do the same thing tomorrow. The USS Sisko heads back to their universe, but on the way they are attacked by Indren cruisers. The USS Sisko from an alternate reality comes to help them and is destroyed in their defense. The USS Sisko from the Prime Universe manages to return home and seal the anomaly. Immediately afterwards, they contact the diplomatic ship, telling them not to enter Indren territory under any circumstances...
