The trees and shadows tells the story of a nature loving shadow who wanted to deeply wanted to be a dryad despite being born a creature of complete darkness, it's humble beginnings, it befriending Dryads, and nature loving fairies, as well as it's descent into madness after consuming the flesh of an elder god, while protecting the sapling that will eventually grow into the world tree known as Yggdrasil, which will give life to the dead barren wasteland, that will eventually become Hyrule. As well the shadow gaining the nickname Aldrich, The Shadow Who Devoured The Elder Gods Of Old. Years later Aldrich would later grow to hate the spirits who actively destroy the trees and nature, as well as anyone or anything that mistreated the nature that the young Aldrich and it's friends loved, and eventually Aldrich would actively hunt down those who harmed nature, where it proceeded to kill, and devoured their flesh. As the years went on and the wasteland gradually being given life thanks to Yggdrasil, Aldrich would later befriend an early version of a human named Damian who created a brand new type of magic known as Cryomancy, who wanted to be Aldrich's disciple, In which Aldrich gladly accepted. Eventually Aldrich was punished for throwing this parallel reality off balanced, and was ordered to build a realm, as well give life and raise it's ruler, as well as a castle that can prevent outsiders from simply wandering into Cygnus's Reality, like a certain reality that contains a certain clock town, so that way Cygnus's reality would be balanced again. Eons later the realm that Aldrich was forced to build, would later be known as the Twilight Realm, where it would stay for a millennia against it's will, raising it's only daughter named Midna so she can rule the Twilight Realm. As for the behemoth of castle meant to prevent outsiders from simply wandering into Cygnus's Reality, Aldrich and it's disciple Domain would call it the Eternal Castle, for the castle's ability to repair itself regardless of any type of damage inflicted on the Eternal Castle. Eventually when both Aldrich and Damian deemed Midna fit to rule the Twilight Realm, they would later return to the wasteland that they call home, and being surprised and quickly happy to discover that wasteland that was dead and unfit for any organic life, is teeming with life and after a welcome party of Aldrich's old friends that were happy to see Aldrich, and Damian told them the good news about how the land is filled with nature, but there are those who envy Yggdrasil that are seeking to harm the world tree, in which Aldrich and Damian listened. As Aldrich and Damian went around protecting Yggdrasil from those seeking to harm the world tree, both Aldrich and Damian were shocked how organised the attacks are getting, and rumors of a demon who ruthlessly usurped the Old Demon King, with the help of the former Demon King's army. Eventually Tragedy after Tragedy started following Aldrich, first it was the destruction of the many forests at the hands of the demons being led by the mysterious Demise the demon who usurped the the throne, and title of the Demon King, and now Aldrich has lost Damian thanks to the surprise attack that left them separated. After months of searching for Damian to no avail, Aldrich's ever growing hate of these demons, and especially self proclaimed Demon King known as Demise, Aldrich has lost what little remained of it's sanity, had begun killing and feasting on every demon it saw. Eventually A certain Goddess Of Light, who is the eldest of the Four Golden Goddesses here in Cygnus's Reality, Offered Aldrich an accord, to be reborn as her herald. Aldrich in it's deepest depression, accepted the accord, knelt and closed it's glowing eyes as Hylia swung the blade of Wiedergeburt at it's nape. Then awoken after hours of complete darkness and silence as Link, The Herald Of Hylia. Now with Link's old memories as Aldrich completely erased and replaced with the new memories Of being Hylia's first born as well as her Herald. Eventually Hylia ordered her three sisters to tend the chaos that was this time caused by Demise. Din, The second youngest out of Hylia's sisters, would correctly shape the wasteland with her limitless might, Nayru, the second oldest, would issue law and order to the lawless wasteland, and the youngest sister Farore together with Yggdrasil would heal the wounded wasteland, restoring life to the land once more. Eventually after all of that was done, Link The Herald Of Hylia would gather an army large enough to conquer the entire macrocosm, The Four Golden Goddesses would later call the herald's army The Sentinels, Hylia would also quietly gather her own followers to compliment her own Herald's army, tasked them with ensuring that our parallel reality known as Cygnus, shall be in perfect balance. Then Hylia, along with her herald, and their followers went to war with Demise, that went on for centuries, in these records it appears that Hylia would be the victor. Until, well let's just say that after Demise was mutilated and almost killed by the Hylia's herald during the supposed final battle at Demise's own citadel, Demise decided to destroy the sun as a last ditch effort to escape alive. After Demise somehow manged to escape while barely clinging to life, thanks to his mutilation by Link. Link, The Herald Of Hylia, would offer his divine soul, and proceeded to tear himself asunder. So after that was over, Hylia's Herald successfully became the sun, but at the cost of his divine soul being shattered so that only his conscious remained. Hours later Hylia would seize control of the Sentinels, to search for where Demise left. However that effort was proved fruitless as Demise The Self Proclaimed Demon King would use little remained of his powers to destroy the stars so that way the denizens of Hyrule would die after being exposed to cosmic radiation, but that would also fail, as The Sentinels proceeded to light themselves on fire, so they can take the place the of the stars. After taking the place of the stars, The Sentinels sadly lost their physical bodies, but however they can be summoned as spirits by a strong summoner, after the summoner proves themselves loyal to the Four Golden Goddesses. Then eventually Hylia and her three sisters would later raise various pieces of the land to protect the survivors from the horrors happening down below. Eventually the various floating land masses would later be known as Skyloft, which would thrive for five-hundred years until The Kingdom Of Skyloft was brought to ruin by the mysterious Ghirahim. Then the survivors from the fallen Kingdom Of Skyloft were protected by Prince Randolph, son of the late Queen Of Skyloft Gwynevere, and protected by the remnants of Skyloft's knights and soldiers. Eventually Sir Faldron, a knight of the fallen Kingdom Of Skyloft, and close friend of Prince Randolph would be alerted by the sounds of a baby crying, after following the cries to the source with some of his fellow knights. Would find a dead mother clutching her baby son in her hands, After Faldron grabbed the baby, and ensuring there were no injuries on the poor child, noticed the dead mother's grey attire. Faldron would quickly realized the dead mother was a Grey Witch, the maidens that the goddess Hylia herself gathered, and told them that their orders are to ensure that this reality is never thrown off balance at all costs. Faldron then went back to prince Randolph after giving the Grey Witch a proper burial, and ensuring her dead body that he'll take good care of her son. Years later, after the founding of the Kingdom Of Hyrule by Randolph known as as the Knight King, the orphan now named Link after his adopted father Faldron had a strange nightmare that corpse of the Grey Witch that ensured the safety of her son, demanded Faldron to named her now orphaned son to be name Link. Sadly Link does not know that his adoptive dad Faldron is not his real dad, and the fact that he is an orphan being raised by an aristocrat who is being trained to be a knight of the Kingdom Of The Hyrule. Poor Link will never the true suffering he will eventually have to endure, is type of anguish that can crush a lesser person. Then again no one but a select few knows that Link, is actually a fragment of the Herald Of Hylia, who this time will actually win no matter what thanks to fate. However will Link save Hyrule from the grasps of the mysterious Ghirahim, and Demise, or will Link decide to go back to his old roots as Aldrich The Shadow Who Devoured The Elder Gods Of Old, and resume destroying anything it deems a threat to nature and Yggdrasil. Only Link himself knows the answer.
