Description
Polaris / Stardust / Star is my new FNAF Daycare OC! This is the special Navigator and the pre-decommissioned version of Polaris, the pre - decommission version being the main daycare form. Polaris also has a decommissioned form, and a partially repaired form, the latter being the final form after decommission.Polaris / Stardust / star FNAF OC
Polaris is the name of the North star daycare project, similar to how "Raincloud" is the original project name for "Raindrop". Polaris is the only name that the partially repaired version accepts, it has denounced all other titles given to them; naming themselves only Polaris. Pre decommission versions can go by many alternative names and nicknames centered around "Star", the children commonly use "Stardust".
Pre decommission: "Star" "Stardust" "Stardrop" "Shooting-star" "North Star" "Polaris"
Decommission: "North Star" "Star" "Lost star" "Dying star" "Polaris"
Post decommission: "Polaris" (Rarely allows; "Polar" "Star")
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Polaris is a North star based animatroic that used to work in the daycare as the old attendant alongside Sun and Moon, before they were decommissioned after several reports and complaints of aggression, child sickness, injury, malfunctioning mechanics and more; overall posing a danger to guests. Star wasn't always a danger to those around them, unfortunately their systems were invaded and manipulated by a virus that corrupted Star; leading to their eventual decommission.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before infection Star was a very popular animatronic, for both the company and guests; working alongside Sun or Moon to bring joy to children. Stardust was manufactured with digitalisation in mind, utilising a combination of a digital screen like faceplate with similar screen like eyes and mouth; allowing the whole face to display visual images, having a wide array of different options and displays. From children's cartoons, colour gradient nightlights and dynamic digital expressions to advertisement blasts, visual aid for guests, and even as a rentable digital screen.
Not only did Star work in the daycare, they were also the prior face of the navigational systems of the pizzaplex, handing out maps that were North star branded; before they were replaced with simple staff bots, as a way to cut costs after Star was decommissioned. However before they were decommissioned, Star proved to be a phenomenal navigator; helping to find and reunite lost children with their families.
Star got the nicknames "Stardust" and "Stardrop" from a candy line that is promoted and based upon Star, Similar to Sun and moon's sunnydrop's and moondrop's respectively. While both "Stardust" and "Stardrop" came from the candy, "Stardust" is the more popular of the two; referencing the "Stardust" that coated the candy surface; giving it a zingy taste, similar to sherbert.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During the virus infection, Stardust experienced several system glitches, they started out small and infrequent; easy to ignore and hide from staff. However over time these glitches would become more common, far more severe and noticeable. Reports from parents began to appear soon after, claiming that Star's digital screen had seemingly "glitched" into an expression of a twisted smile with glowing purple eyes; another reporting similar symptoms in the same week, staff simply brushed both off as untrue. It wasn't until frequent reports of children getting sick, being sent into seizures and being mentally and physically harmed after recent contact with Star. This prompted the staff into investigating, specifically analysing Star to diagnose any potential issues; sending them to parts and services where they were shut down and examined. It was here that the virus was discovered, tampering with Star's system; causing them to become a liability around children. In the end management decided to decommission Stardust, the virus had a vast amount of control over Star's system; which would only grow as the virus spread deeper.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thus Stardust was decommissioned soon after, their spare parts being used in other projects, other animatonics; leaving Star as a broken relic of the past. Star was tossed with other animatronic scrap, to rot away and be forgotten, a failed experiment by a liability plagued company. However the virus was deep into the systems now, with just enough residual power left in their system, the decrepit North star powered itself back on; a faint purple glow emitting from their only remaining eye, illuminating the left wall. It was no longer clear how much control Star had over their system, as the metallic heap began to drag itself forward; crawling towards the nearest power station with what little power was left.
After the decommissioning of Stardust management turned their focus onto a new project, a replacement project; "Raincloud". Raincloud was the working name of a replacement daycare animatronic project, an animatroic that was reactive to stimuli and emotions around them; in a way of enhancing the young children's retention by reacting directly to their input. However its most important planned feature was the recent addition of virus protection and defense systems, in an attempt to combat the virus that took Starsdust's profit capabilities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's unknown what exactly happened to Star next, however they were eventually discovered by a member of staff, their identity was no longer known to the broken code that now made up Stardust. Regardless the staff member had investigated the "Stardust Seizures" case, eventually following clues and suspicion to track down the decommissioned animatronic; the reasons why were not known or discussed. The staff member convinced a desperate North star to allow them to attempt a repair, teasing Star with the prospect of being able to go back to work with Sun and the children; to be fixed and free of the virus. However this was not entirely accurate, the staff member would only partially repair Star, using budget, spare, salvaged or damaged parts; thus after repair their right eye is faulty and known to glitch. This staff member didn't have any intention of removing the glitch, instead they wanted to control the infected host like a puppet, they were however wise enough to remove the remaining digital screen faceplate, replacing it with a regular faceplate; however they did leave the digital eyes and mouth.
After Star's system booted up after repair, they were outside the daycare alone; with no sign of the staff who they had been repaired by. They felt different than before, they weren't their past self anymore, however they weren't the same as when the virus fully controlled them; it was as if the virus and Star were now one in the same. Star would never be the same again, not only physically, but mentally too; their personality was drastically different. Bitter, spiteful, full of mallace, hate, violence and resentment. This was most noticeable when Star entered the Daycare after so long, to find Sun playing games as if Star had been forgotten so easily; but there was another, an unknown figure. Raincloud, their replacement.
After partial repair, Star changed their name; dispising their former titles and ties to the company; now being names "Polaris". They dispise nicknames and as such they rarely allow any mention of Polaris based nickname to go unnoticed, they will attack at will.
