Description
Requested by ~ledastudios . Off hand I can think of... Ducktales, Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gummi Bears, Sonic the Hedgehog (who had -two- cartoons airing at once)...Please don't argue with this stamp. I only made it for amusement purposes.

Arn't those cartoons you mentioned (aside from Sonic) all late-80s cartoons actually? (Though, they were still on the air in the 90s.)
But yeah, alot of 80s & 90s cartoons featured "funny cartoon animals," or "anthropomorphic animals" in them. So I find it funny when people are saying stuff like "anthros/furries sux," yet list Bugs Bunny, Sonic, or something as their favorite cartoon character. (I never really liked the term "furry" personally, as odd as that may sound coming from somebody with "skunk" in their name.)

*lol* I'm actually a mix of 80's and 90's (was born in 85), so I'm not actually sure when some of those originally aired without looking it up XD; Maybe I should edit the stamp *snerk*
I don't like the term "furry" either really. In fact a Sonic roleplay group I'm in invented a new term just to avoid it.

I remember years to easily. You could name any show, cartoon, movie, or video game, and I'd probably remember what year it came out in.
Really, what's the term? I've heard some people use "Mobian," when refering to Sonic-style animal characters.
Never been in a Sonic RP before, but I have been in a few on a Star Fox message board before years back. In one I was Tails, in another I went as Dr. Eggman.

Aye, we use mobian too, but we also use it to refer to humans in the Sonic world, so we invented the word "thrope" (derived from the Greek word "anthropos", meaning "man") to refer to the animal characters

Ah, I see. "Thrope" sounds a bit odd to me, though, but it's pretty clever though, I admit.

Really, the term furry has more lewd roots.
I perfer the term anthro over furry, mostly because of that.
It's like a little kid saying: I'm a loli. It's just weird.

"Furry" I don't think was originally ment for lewdness, but I think eventually the internet, and such perverted the word in the end.

This needed to be said. Im so sick of seeing so much hate for anthros and then being discriminated against for having an anthro character. I love animals, and i loved anthro characters that i grew up with, those are the only reason for what i draw.
The ignorance these days... bah.
Anyway thats my rant. XD great stamp!

Thank you for your input ^^ I'm glad you like this stamp. I like human characters as well as anthros myself, though I tend to find anthros more interesting from an artistic and writer's perspective. They can emote in ways humans can't (movement of ears, swishing of tails, extension of claws, etc), and they give much more variety in appearance since humans tend to be fairly samey... plus if you study wildlife like I do you can also play with traits and instincts and how that could apply to a story's culture and such.
It's a shame the "furry" hate has even extended to the animation industry... I've heard comments from guys in the biz about it =/

No problem 83
Thats a really good point, its just much more fun to make anthro characters, you can do so much more to express emotions, which is a subject im interested in.
Have you? i guess it shouldnt suprise me.

Yeah, odds are a child of the 80's or 90's were a fan of an antrho show.
Not just with animals. Ever hear of "Rubix the Amazing Cube"?

Yeah, when your 3 years old and you have Care Bears, Little Bear, Richard Scarry, Barney, Loonie Toons, Darkwing Duck, Micky Mouse, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Tom and Jerry, SatAM, Chip and Dale, Duck Tails, Tailspin, Timon and Pumbaa show and TMNT. (And that's just off the top of your head) is thrown at you with every channel flick...
When you grow up around that, it's a little hard NOT to be brainwashed. Especially when you enter the anime age (Age six when Sailor Moon and Dragon ball Z came around )
Not to say I'm resentful. Great old memories~

Tiny Toons, Barney, Pinky and the Brain, Catdog, etc...
You may be onto something there. I was always into the animal shows (the first part of my childhood was only, and I mean ONLY, Lion King), and I'm a fan of furries and anthros. :3

No offense but both cartoons you mentionned was made in the 80's. The 90's was much the freedom of the cartoon business and if they have anthro characters, it's because it's much easy to draw than humans.
Anyway, great stamp!
