Scrolls were strewn about Janblu’s cave, from studies on dragon anatomy, to specific scrolls. As he walked in, Janblu set his mind to searching for one scroll in particular, it usually remained in one specific section of the floor. Upon spotting it, his magic carefully unwrapped it and laid it flat across the floor. Janblu only gave it a glance, he knew the scroll better than he knew himself, although given why he needed the scroll, that may not have been a fair comparison.

Out of a sack Janblu brought forth four specific items. One, a special rock, which he had found lying about near his childhood cave many years ago. A steel rod, simple, though not easy to obtain without some sort of bribe. A medical stone, the easiest to get for this ritual, as he already had several due to him once being a student of medicine. And finally, a personal possession, a small rungu that his parents had given him. While he wouldn’t have used this glorified root club, it still signified that his parents cared for him. It was not easy to let go for this.

His wings tips lit up, words and thoughts flowing out in magical form, imbuing each chosen item with the magic needed to allow them to play their part in the ritual to come. As Janblu worked on this, however, his demon raged. Inachukiza was fearful and angry, pushing back at the mental chains that kept him away, knowing his time was drawing near. Janblu’s job became twofold, making sure to get the spells and magic right, while making sure Inachukiza didn’t take over. He wasn’t sure what the demon would do, but it wouldn’t be pretty.

When at last Janblu had finished this part of the ritual, he felt himself quite exhausted. Fortunately he did not need to expel Inachukiza at that exact moment, but 24 hours was too short for Janblu to get the magic back that he needed. He had planned for this though, and he retreated into the depths of his cave for the glass sphere he used as a reservoir, his excitement at being able to get rid of the demon more than enough to keep the demon in check.
