So I think this officially punts me over the edge and into raging Avatardom. But seriously, I am utterly and completely addicted. My roomie and I were talking about how this rag-tag collection of teenaged exiles, runaways, and political enemies-of-the-state could end up ruling the world (if they live that long).So This is sort of a "10 years later, having their portrait done for political reasons" type thing. I guess. *Shrugs* Or whatever.
BTW, I've always liked Zuko cause he = lmfao. But lately Zuko = somebody needs to b*tch slap that boy. like, woah.

I normally don't watch Avitar, but looking at this art makes me a little curious as to how the ending is if they are all standing together. Everyone looks beautiful/handsome- and great work with Saka, he looks so suspicious and sulky to be posing with Zuko. You caught everyones personalities well in the art, very nicely done.

I drew this long before Zuko was part of the Gaang so I was thinking more of (young) characters who had a big role in the 'revolution'. You're right that Suki would have to be included, and Mai is arguable in that regard. But then there would be a bunch of other characters that I would have to include as well. hmmmm....

I don't know. I was thinking of it more as the season 3 Gaang. You know, the ones who were in the Southern Raiders, Ember Island Players and finally made the invasion plan etc together.
They did all the hard work and had the biggest roles in the 'revolution'.

All it needs is Suki and you'll have the three most popular pairings up there in the photo as well (Zutara, Taang, and Sokki).

Now that I look at this I wonder how I would draw it if I were to do it now. Since I drew it before season three I wonder - Who else would I include now that the series is over? I think part of me still considers these five the core characters, even though Toph wasn't in the first season at all, and Zuko only joined the group really late. There are so many characters that I absolutely love in the series if I included everyone I would probably have to draw like 20 characters. I love Suki, she's so awesome. And I won't lie, I'm a rabid Zutarian, even though I've read some good older-AangXKatara stuff that I liked, I prefer him with other characters.
And I also love "older" pictures, just seeing what people think characters would look like when they're adults or whatever.

It always gives the characters more life to see people draw them as older. It makes it feel like even though the season is over, they still live and their legacy goes on. Also, those five ARE the main characters. Though Zuko didn't join the actual group til season three, he was still a prominent figure in all of the show.

I had a lot of fun with the girls' outfits (the guys didn't change much did they?). Tried to balance what I think they'd wear (or tolerate in Toph's case) for a formal occasion with their personalities. They're so much fun that sometimes they seem to draw themselves.
