Wow. This took awhile to make. My longest comic yet. Geez... I really gotta start making these shorter again.So there we go, everybody! That was the whole Buggy arc! ...No, seriously. I'm doing my own thing from here on out.
Well... I mean Buggy'll still be around but... well... you'll see. If I just did the same arc as what was in the anime all the time, it would get boring quick, don't you think? This is a parody, after-all.Say what you will about it, but I will NEVER... EVER defend the Buggy arc.It was the most disappointing early arc by far. Even more disappointing because it was the first MAJOR arc. At least with Alvida you only had to put up with her for one episode. Don't get me wrong, I like buggy, but I don't think he was a good enough villain to carry his own arc. It makes me wonder what kind of tension and stakes would have been given to the arc if Oda had done it nowadays.... oh well.
For anyone who asks who the mystery villain is, I will reply with "Maybe" (even if it makes no sense in context to your message). I love the internetz, since you can't read my face to tell if I'm lying or not.
I will say that he's NOT an original character. He's in One Piece, but at what point in the series he was originally introduced... I won't say. 
Just a heads up. Don't expect another comic till the week after next week. I'm gonna take a little break after this monster.

Haha, great comic as usual, and I have to say that I didn't like or hate the Buggy arc, or any arc before that anyway, they were ok, but the first arc that I actually really enjoyed was the Kuro arc, then after that it was all uphill for me.

Same for me. Kuro was the first arc of interest and the Arlong arc more or less smented my love for the series. It was all uphill from there.

Cool, and I just want to ask cause 'm curious, what do you think of the arc were at in the manga right now, and do you think any of the people introduced have a chance of joining the crew, if you're up to date with reading it that is.

My honest feelings on Punk Hazard? I think it's a pretty good, but not great, arc so far. I'm just not sure what the point of it is right now... is it setting up a plot point or something? Maybe introducing the ideals of Vegapunk or something? For the first arc in the New World I was expecting something GRAND, but that's the problem when something is hyped up for so long. I felt the same way about Fishman Island. It was good, but I was expecting the next Alabasta with how long that arc was hyped.
The New World was supposed to wacky and different (Walking on the air, gravity islands, lightning rain, etc) and I wanted to see more of that kind of logic bending nature. The east blue was "normal"... everything looked like it would in real life and didn't seem too imaginative. The Grand Line was "abnormal"... all the islands had weird looks or were creative in some way or another. The New World is "chaos"... Oda's chance to do things unscientifically and just say: It's just like that cause... uhhh... IT'S THE NEW WORLD!
My point is that Punk Hazard kind of feels just like another Grand Line island. I do like how it threw a bunch of strange things at the crew in the beginning adventure portion to give a sense of "what the hell?" like Dragons, a Harpy, Centaurs, etc. As for the plot, it sort of feels out of place. Maybe it's cause characters are being introduced out of the blue (Vergo for example), or that the Straw hats main motivation this arc seems to be helping children (whom they don't know very well) and helping Law (whom they don't know very well). I mean, NOW with the poison they're just defending themselves, but before... I didn't really feel the motivation.
Short form: This arc feels kind of jumbled and I guess Oda's setting up for later or something. Kind of disappointing with how much it was hyped, but it's still One Piece and it's still entertaining. I think I just judge Oda too harshly nowadays, especially after that long run of great arcs from Water 7 to Marineford.
P.S. I think the body swapping thing with Sanji and Nami had so much more potential. Come on Oda, ya little bastard, give me more!

You made very good points, personally I've been enjoying the arc, in my opinion the island is one of the strangest they've been to so far, being half fire and ice and all, but because they've been in the lab for what seems like forever it doesn't feel different from other islands cause they're not focusing on the actual island.I like how Oda gave an actual reason for why everything on the island is so messed up, with the fight between the two admirals screwing up the weather and law creating the mix and match creatures.
I think the arc isn't too jumbled in terms of plot, though I do have to agree that Luffy trusting Law so quickly was a little sketchy and while Nami wanting to help the kids so much seems within her character, considering what she went through as a kid, it was never hinted before this she was the mother type, though I don't think the crew would have abandoned the kids either way.
So in short I also think this arc is pretty much setup for the characters Vegapunk and Doflamingo, but the arc is still very entertaining despite that. But you didn't answer my question of who you think might join, if you think anyone will.
P.S. I also thought there was some missed opportunities with the body swapping, I wish Robin and Luffy would've been switched, that would've been hilarious. XD

Oh yah. Characters that will join. Right. I don't think anyone will join their crew this arc. Normally we see some sort of flashback, or the side character helps out the straw hats for the arc so that the reader can get used to them. Law comes the closest to that this arc, but I sincerely doubt he's gonna join them. Samurai dude comes second place. It's kind of like how I just had that feeling Jimbe would join the crew last arc with all the stuff he and Luffy had gone through. ...not that that's happened yet, but you get my point.
On another note, here's a thought. Do you think that Luffy and the gang are going to meet a new Supernova each arc? In this arc, it was Law. Next maybe Bonney or something? I dunno. It seems like the type of setup Oda would do so that he could always create a conflict each arc.

Yeah It doesn't look like anyone will join this arc, I kinda want Monet to join, and really thought she would at first, but then she turned out to be, you know, evil, but something still seems off about her, considering she saw Chopper when he escaped the room and said nothing, so maybe she still could, I mean I'm getting the same vibe from her as I got from Robin in her introduction,and Robin seemed pretty evil when she was first introduced. But I'm afraid her joining would be a little too similar to Robin.
Also I think that the supernovas will be introduced every so often, not every arc, whenever they are relevant for that part of the story, ex. Kidd. Scratch and Hawkins will probably be introduced to help fight big mam, and Drake will come out when they face off with Kaido.
And about Jewelry Bonney, it's possible, but it appears she has some connection with the higher ups of the government, considering how Akainu addresses her when shes caught,and I don't think a child would have that connection, but hey, if its possible Crocodile used to be a woman, it's possible she's just a kid in an adults body.
P.S. I hope the government's plan is to use her powers to make the Gorosei, the five top leaders, young again so they can fight at one hundred percent,cause they would have to be quite powerful to be so high up in that government, considering the people working under them.

1) I doubt Monet will join, she doesn't really have the motivation too. Plus if she joined then why not Camie or Pell or someone? There's so many cool side characters characters in One Piece that I'd love to see more of.
2) Maybe they'll all just show up in one arc? A bunch of em got that whole alliance thing going now apparently.
3) There's a theory that crocodile used to be a women? That.... makes so much sense.

1)Good points concerning Monet,I agree that though I like her,her chances of joining keep going down, but I'm sure if she doesn't join she'll go with Law or something like that. Also I don't understand why but people keep saying she can be an astronomer, which I have no idea where they got the idea from.
2)Possibly, but I think they'll appear as small groups every so often until a big arc where all of them join up, which would be epic.

Never underestimate the power of breasts.
The thing is that these first arcs are going to be the hardest to get through quickly simply because they're smaller. I usually try to think point form what the major events in an arc were and go from there.
MORGAN ARC:
- Landed at island
- Heard of Morgans tyranny
- Met Zoro
- Little sub plot with Rika
- Ran through base to get Zoro's swords
- Battle with Morgan
- Townsfolk thank them
- Coby is recruited into the Marines
Okay then... let's compare that with the much longer:
THRILLER BARK:
- Triggered the flash barrel
- Met Brook
- Landed on island
- Had adventure portion/ discovered the strangeness of the isle
- Met Hogback
- Nami was attacked
- Straw hats begin to disappear one by one
- Luffys shadow is taken and put in Odz by Moria
- Nami is kidnapped in preparation for marriage to Absolom
- Brook attempts to get his shadow back
- The straw hats split up for their individual battles:
- Zoro fights Ryuuma
- Sanji fights Absolom
- Ussop fights Perona
- The straw hats regroup and fight Odz/Moria together
- Moria uses Shadows Asgard but is defeated before the sun comes up
- Kuma shows up and fights Zoro
- Zoro does his epic pain absorbing thingy
- They have a party
- Brook joins the crew
I might have missed a few thing but still. So... my point is that Morgan's arc can be simplified to about 8-ish points and Thriller bark to 20-ish points. A long arc that took 40-ish episodes can be simplied to about double the length of a small arc that took 2 episodes. My point is that I can point form larger arcs into comics much easier.
