Even with such a crow of people at his back, he looks lonely.

Hi, I'm an italian that manage a free art-zine called Chiamata alle Arti (Call for Arts) where artists, each two months, try to represent a specific theme with their own technique.
You can see some covers on my DA account, plus the link to all issues: [link]
Each issue I also show some international artists work, that fit the issue theme.
Next one is Psiche and I would like to show this work on it.
Can I? I will credit you on the zine, with nick, link and email, if you want.

This feels very lonely. I like it very much. However I think his hand is missing a finger, unless it's part of your style or I'm blind... could be a bit of both. Can't be that blind or I couldn't appreciate this picture as much as I do.

I noticed within the range of colors you used, the lightest tones are on the water. This combined with the ripple effect around the boat, immediately drew my eye. Even as impressionistic as this piece or work is, the water has a very real look to it. I love it.

A question, did you paint adult's reflections upside down?
and the space/3d feeling is succeeded, gotta keep an eye on you i guess..

I LOVE your use of color in this and your style of painting demonstrated throughout all your pieces! Just amazing!!
I can't help but feel sad for this lonely/bored boy left to play with his boat by himself while the adults enjoy themselves. The way you show the crowd reflected in the water is an awesome effect! It draws much more interest and attention. Definite

I felt like this quite a bit as a child. My mother taught kindergarden and I would have to stay at school till she got her work done for the day and I would feel this way a lot on the playground at the school she taught at. Great work. Looks like you could paint for children's books! Awesome style.

Reminds me of my childhood. Just playing my myself most of the time. Not having much fun, not having much to do...

like others have mentioned, the composition's so interesting and well-exectued. I love the boy's expression. the tiny boat is breathtaking. I like how the boat makes little ripples in the reflection of the grown-ups. I don't know. the reflection seems suggestive of something illusory. it enhances the mood of isolation. but uh..it could just be me intellectualizing things unnecessarily. colours are so nicely done.

shes right,
That's so cute. I love how the adults look, like they are all square compaired to how round the kid is, and they look sort of rude and not like people i'd want to hang around with. You did a really nice job capturing what its like to be a kid stuck at a grown-up party.
oh, and junes my birthday

my birthday month...and strangely reminiscent of my own childhood.
when you're a sensitive child the whole world seems to be mocking you
you are safe inside your imagination

I love the composition on this one. A carefree day just lying in the grass and playing with his boat is anything but quiet and daydreamy or fun. The reflected adults are noisy and boisterious with their loud mouth (open mouths on some of them) chatter. They mingle at a gathering with their drinks and their talk, while the boy trys to escape from this loud gathering of tightly packed adults that intrudes upon his play. I see that he is sad and bored for while the crowd of adults have others to talk to he has no other playmate than himself and his toy. He is completely left out and lonely.

Aw, I know the feeling. Huh, and it's my birth-month too. Woo.
I always felt like this in large groups. Everyone seemed to make such an effort to seem sunny, and it seems very silly, even as a kid.

Very similar to that of Joe Sorren. Love your work!
One day when I'm a military dictator I shall give you a nice art gallery and name it something snooty.

I love the perspective you applied to this. interesting seeing someone who is part of a group, yet completely seperate, portrayed this way.
nice job.
I like how the brush strokes affect the image too. the grass and child look thick, chunky, while the people look thin and... well, reflected.

Omfg, this is really beautiful. Great water, great reflections, great characters and great sense of childs "isolation" from grown people.
Very very nice

... simply gorgeous... you've captured a sense of childhood that many often forget, and that is (for me anyways) the sense that "I can't wait to grow up..."
... if we only knew then what we know now, we wouldn't have wished that kind of rush upon ourselves...

the detail and surround of the boat really is a testament to your skill, as you manage to make the whole area appear as 3-d, where so many other artists would fail.

I love the cabbage patch-esque expression.
I've come to the conclusion your blockier stuff is better, with the bold, fat brustrokes. It's also cool to convey the entire scene in the reflection. The boy's father is taking part in a social fuss, making ripples occur on the water, jarring the innocent, lonely little sailboat (symbolized in the boy). I really like the subtle themes.
This is greatness.
