And here’s the next entry into the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Celebration, bara edition. I chose Lt. Surge mainly due to his appearance in the very early days of the anime where he appeared in his army uniform but with an open shirt.

When designing his look for my style, I wanted to blend his looks over the years to a G.I. Joe classic look, so I shorted his spiky hair, gave it a slight undercut, but still kept a sense of “spiky-ness” to it.

His clothing was a blend from several eras of Pokémon, including the aforementioned anime, his looks from the Kanto remakes (FireRed, LeafGreen, Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee) and more. I chose two of the Pokémon that he uses in the Gen 7 remakes, the Let’s Go games, in the first image. I know that his strongest Pokémon is Raichu, but the reason I left him out is that Raichu is only about 30” high, and Surge is a very tall person. All we’d see is the top of Raichu’s head. Raichu is also significantly larger than Pikachu, so it didn’t make sense for Raichu to appear on his shoulder or something of the sort.

It was quite a challenge to incorporate so much into this piece, but I had some of the most fun with this in a long time.

I have not yet decided who to do next, but there’s plenty of time. Hope to see you all in the Paldea Region!
